The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) is sponsoring a new $10 Buy Local Challenge to promote the purchase of agricultural goods produced in the Commonwealth. If each household in Virginia spends just $10 a week on locally grown agricultural products that would generate $1.65 billion back to the local economy each year! Agriculture is already Virginia’s leading industry with an annual economic impact of $55 billion.
